And the answer for a lot of fans is BEARD!!!

'The beard' first appeared on our screens in Season 4 of CSI, and many females up and down the land fell instantly in love with that neatly trimmed bit of fluff on our favorite bugman's chin. Yes, Grissom/William Petersen was sexy before it, but the beard seemed to add an OMFG this man is HOT element to our viewing pleasure. A clean-shaven Grissom appeared at the beginning of Season 7, but the beard made a welcome return when he was on sabbatical at Williams, albeit a little bushier than before. Alas, it appears that once again the beard is no more, but at least we were given a scrumptious shaving scene to bid it farewell. And, god bless CSI DVD's which enable obsessives like myself to get their 'beard fix' from Seasons 4, 5, and 6.
